Commemorating history through music on November 11 at 5 p.m. at Old St. Gertrude’s Church in Riga, and again on November 12 at 5 p.m. at St. John’s Church in Cēsis. These performances will feature the stirring historical cantata “God, Thy Earth Is Aflame!” by Lūcija Garūta and Andrejs Eglītis. The program will also include captivating compositions by Jēkabs Jančevskis, Pēteris Vasks, and Pēteris Plakids, promising an unforgettable journey through sound and emotion.
The concerts will be attended by organist Jolanta Barinska, soloists Eduards Vācietis and Mārtiņš Zvīgulis, narrator Zane Jančevska, Riga Practical Aesthetics School mixed choir “Anima Mea”, Emīl Dārziņš mixed choir, Cēsu Culture Center mixed choir “Vidzeme”, Ogre teachers’ chamber choir and conductors of these choirs Ivars Krauze, Jēkabs Jančevskis, Rihards Lapiņš and Jēkabs Kalniņš.
