“Lūcija Garūta’s miniatures ar the backbone of the album Echoes of Latvia, connecting classical Latvian heritage with contemporary music.”
Laura Zariņa regularly performs and promotes music by Latvian composers, notably Lūcija Garūta. In her recent album Echoes of Latvia, she combines Garūta’s miniatures with contemporary compositions, creating a musical dialogue between eras. Zariņa also visited Garūta’s apartment, personally connecting with the composer’s environment and artistic legacy. Through recordings and performances, she continues highlighting Garūta’s music for modern audiences.

In our video series “Meeting the Artist” you can see how, for the album Echoes of Latvia, Laura Zarina visited the apartment of Lūcija Garūta – a room full of history, where the composer’s music is still alive.
